Personally, I consider myself to be a role playing gamer. That is, I play the games for the pleasure of reading and playing along, with my character as the protagonist. The dialogue between my character and NPC (non player characters) promotes a more immersive feeling into the quests, as you could see your character’s expressions change according to what they say. And of course, it always feel good for one to accomplish a mission. I tend to stop playing games once I finish the storyline due to the fact that there’s nothing more to unlock. However, for online games, especially the popular MMORPGS such as Runescape and World of Warcraft, tend to have an active, dedicated staff whom would, once in a while, upload a new quest for us RPG-hungry gamers to play. If the staff at Runescape stopped at, let’s say, a certain number of quests, RPGs like me, would leave, leaving multiplayer-ers behind to create their own pseudo-quests. Personally, I prefer doing role playing quests created by Jagex, the masterminds behind Runescape, mainly for the fact that they feel authentic, and their quality is always guaranteed.
My subscription will end soon, and once that subscription ends, I will be reviewing the game mechanics, and how it appeals to gamers down to the lowest denomination possible.
